(we had a community cup event. go orange! had to resist these free delicious greek wraps that >100 people around me ate...oooh that was hard)

D: Margaret's birthday dinner at Siam Nara
- I ordered a dish called 'Rama', what I thought was a healthy dish: fried tofu + steamed brocooli and other veggies + brown rice in a peanut sauce. It was one of the few dishes listed that did not contain coconut milk. I later looked it up to find out that the peanut sauce recipe seems to almost always call for coconut milk :(. Nooooo! It was pretty good though.
Dess: Chantilly Berry cake from Whole Foods - 1 slice = 311 calories. probably had like 1.5 x 311 = 466 calories. Tasted delicious though, everyone loved it.

This week has been very dessert-heavy! On the bright side, I think I've learned to choose what/how I like to have my indulgences, and that's been helpful. For example, I chose to forgo halloween candy b/c I knew I enjoy indulging in baked goods more. Will eat cleaner this weekend.

2. Filet mignon medallions with steamed vegetables (ate 2 out of 3 cubes of steak. Apparently filet mignon is the leanest cut of beef you can get at a steakhouse, whereas prime rib is the fattiest. I had no idea until today!)
3. fresh strawberries with grand marnier cream (made of heavy cream, so probably not that healthy. tasted great though. ordered this to avoid being tempted by the heavier desserts: chocolate lava cake, creme brulee, and mousse)

Did ok at avoiding some pitfalls, but sodium and sugar content was probably poorly controlled with the trail mix and pasta sauce. I used cauliflower instead of eating the spaghetti, at the very least?

Exercise: 7 mi hike, ~600 ft elevation gain in Tuolomne meadows. Very beautiful! Ended the hike at Cathedral Lake

If I want to treat myself to a dessert, I want it to be on my own terms, relatively pre-planned, self-chosen to be my favorite food so I can fully enjoy it and feel like I'm rewarding myself. I know this sounds weird. I'm sorry Kevin!

- 1 pc green onion-wrapped Taiwanese pork roll (convinced Mark to take the rest home, haha)
- Snow Lettuce and Pork Noodle Soup (Xue Cai Rou Si Mian): with hand-made noodles! (ate 1/2 the noodles, all the soup veggies and rou si)
Ate a lot, but very tasty

Exercise: 1 hour Zumba class (This instructor wasn't very good...didn't work up a sweat until 30 min in. Prob won't go on Sundays anymore).

Exercise: 2.5 mi jog, 60 min Zumba toning class (with my favorite instructor! pity she only teaches once a week, just started now, and is gone next week :( )

- DELICIOUS cold noodle salad: buckwheat soba noodles, cucumber, tofu in sesame/soy/lemon sauce (will have to ask Bennett and Frances for recipe)

- 1 meatball
- chicken breast (8 cubes?) - was part of a larger rice dish
- some pasta salad (mostly went for the veggies in it)

D: 1 chicken drumstick, homemade panang curry!! (with tofu, bean sprouts, spinach, kale, carrots, and onion. Sauce made using curry paste, leftover oil from baking chicken, and greek yogurt)
Unfortunately, ate too much curry and felt uncomfortably full for a long time afterwards - I think it was the dairy of the greek yogurt that I wasn't used to (the fatty chicken soup base, too). Tasted pretty good though, will use less water next time to thicken it! Greek yogurt was a good substitute for coconut milk, still got the curry to precipitate.
Dess: 1 jujube, grapes

Exercise: 3.3 mi run (3 loops around miramar), 15 min yoga
